Cornucopia

Perfect spring weather greeted PES gardeners on Tuesday. Cornucopia teachers Kathleen, Lauren and Master Gardener Peggy first led the students in an activity to correctly sequence the story of the life cycle of a seed. The students then cooperated to transplant kale and lettuce seedlings. Spinach, pea shoots, carrots, beets and another variety of lettuce were all planted from seeds directly into the garden beds.  We were excited to find that the asparagus planted in 2015 is thriving and will be ready for eating during our gardening sessions.

We’re excited to see all that will grow this season!
