PES Third graders have been learning about the Civil Rights Movement and famous African Americans. They are preparing for a Civil Rights Performance. Here is Mrs. Hastings class practicing and singing the “Harriet Tubman” song.

Author and CLiF presenter Sy Montgomery visits PES. The children were riveted by her amazing stories of journeys to Africa, the Amazon, swimming with pink dolphins. and befriending an octopus. Sy has learned all creatures can be our teachers if we are patient and observant. Sy says, “when a student is ready, a teacher will appear.”
