Read Across America School Event
February 24, 2017
On Friday, February 24, we’re planning an all school celebration of literacy with a focus on different cultures. We’re looking for volunteer readers to come in to read a story and do arelated activity. An example would be reading “ Sadako and The Thousand Paper Cranes” and doing a simple origami activity. Or reading “Too Many Tamales” and bringing some tamales for the children to try. We can help pick a story and activity or you can come with your own favor- ite and idea. We hope to have three guest readers and activities for each grade level. Please call teachers below if you would like to come in and share your culture and tradition through a story. Once we have all our volunteers, someone will contact you to let you know the exact time and schedule.
Thank you so much, we’re looking forward to a fun day celebrating literacy and learning about other cultures.
