Outdoor Learning at PES

This week, our friends from the Harris Center worked with our 3rd graders teaching about the weather. Ben King of the Harris Center talked to our students about wind, including what a compass is, how to find points north, south, east and west, how to tell which direction the wind is coming from, and how to tell wind speed using a Beaufort Scale. Our teachers and students took advantage of the great fall weather and held the lesson outside. This allowed for students to see examples of the wind viewing the leaves, branches, and trees.
