[post_content] => Hands-On Family Nutrition Workshop
Hosted by: Title 1 and Nutritionist, Tiffany Calcutt
The workshop Focused on the topic of healthy breakfast foods that kids can make themselves! This was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the
practice of eating well and the positive aspects of nutrition in our everyday hectic lives. Tiffany discussed the connection between eating well and performance results in the classroom. Parents and students alike had so much fun making these healthy breakfast foods to enjoy together.

We invited the Conval High School National Honor Society students to read a story and provide a connected activity; thirty-five high school students joined us. 35! It was awesome. Each classroom had 2, 3, or more high school students sharing their love of reading and sharing stories with our students. A huge thank you to Conval High School, and PES reading teacher Adine Aldrich for making this happen.

As part of a unit on Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, 2nd and 4th graders were visited by Dick Dunning (who is part of the NH 6th reenactment group) who answered questions and shared items and "stories" about life during the war. This was a wonderful hands-on experience for the students.
